Our team were out and about in the heart of London giving out JD sports vouchersas part of our give back to the community project. We were finding out from theyouth in our community their thoughts on the impact of knife crime and whatsolutions can be put forward to tackle this issue.

London specifically, there are a number of factors that contribute to knife crime.Some experts believe that the rise in knife crime in London may be linked to thecity’s gang culture, which is driven by poverty, social exclusion, and a lack of opportunities. Additionally, somehave pointed to the proliferation of social media asa factor in knife crime, as it has made it easier for gangs to communicate andorganize. Finally, there is some evidence to suggest that cuts in police funding and adecrease in community resources havecontributed to the rise in knife crime in London.

The prevalence of drugs: Many experts believe that the drug trade is a major driverof knife crime in London, as gangs fight over territory and drug profits.

A lack of police presence: Some have argued that cuts to police funding haveresulted in a decrease in the number of officers on the streets, which has made iteasier for criminals to carry out knife attacks.

A culture of violence: Some have suggested that knife crime is part of a broaderculture of violence that has taken root in some parts of London. This culture may bedriven by a number of factors, including poverty, social exclusion, and a lack ofopportunities.
